Sunset vows on the high seas – is there anything more romantic? As longtime worldwide adventure seekers, Luke & Erin were pretty sure the answer was no. So, when they decided to finally tie the knot (heh), they and their family flew across the country to board the stately Schooner Zodiac for a sunset cruise. Over the course of the evening, Luke & his siblings – all of whom have been avid sailors most of their lives – chatted with the deckhands about everything sailing. The grandparents stayed warm in the cozy quarters below deck with hot tea and blankets, and everyone enjoyed a few hours of pleasant company with those closest to them.
When getting the ship set for the ceremony, everyone was needed to help haul up the three giant sails – which Luke & Erin were more than excited to do. Speaking of excited, this was my first experience crawling out onto the rigging of a ship to get a photo – so cool!
After all of that came the real thing: as the sun painted gorgeous colors across the sky, Erin crossed the deck with her father, and Luke’s father & grandfather performed their wedding ceremony. Immediately afterwards Erin’s best friend sang for their first dance. And just like that, the sun set on a beautiful couple, their adoring families and a wonderful wedding day out on Bellingham bay.
