My friend Kristen, who was also my son’s amazing kindergarten teacher, was expecting her second bundle of incredible energy a couple of months ago and I jumped at the chance to take them all out to Hovander Park after school for a short family/maternity mini photo sesson. I love this family!
I have had the great privilege of personally knowing and being able to photograph this beautiful family from the time they first moved to Bellingham, and brought home two of their now-five kids waaaay back in 2008. Today, they have one kid in the Navy; one just about to start in-person classes at Gonzaga; one…
Oh my goodness, this little girl’s faces!! She could make anyone fall in love with her. Sometimes with young kids, a 20-30 minute session is all that they’re going to stand for; fortunately, it’s all we need to frame up the story of what your lives are right in this moment!
Oh my goodness, I love fall at Hovander Park! And this adorable little family coordinated themselves so perfectly with the fall colors; this couldn’t have gotten any better.

“At the end of our lives, we’ll see it was about having fun, rather than being serious; and celebrating each of us rather than correcting one another. It was about wearing our hearts proudly in public rather than hiding them away. And it was about being together. Like, really *being* together.” –S.C. Laurie
“Let me love you a little more, before you’re not little anymore.”

I got to meet this beautiful family at Semiahmoo to celebrate little Cole’s first birthday. We had so much fun playing around on the beach in the wind & sun; I LOVE his chubby little cheeks!!
