A Few Peeks

Posted on

There’s still a lot of mad-dashering going on around here, but I thought it would be fun to give you a peek at a few things that I’m currently working on! :)

P.S. Click on the images for a higher-quality view. ;)

Luke & Jessica {Vancounver BC Wedding Photographer}

Well… I think I broke my record for the most indecisive wedding blog post ever. I just LOVED Luke & Jess’ wedding so much that it was hard to weed out images to not post! They got married on my birthday, July 1st – which also happens to be Canada Day (significant since it was a Canadian wedding), and included an awesome fireworks show at the end of the night. Her “forest fairytale” theme was simply to die for – the reception tent was dripping with chandeliers, white flowers and burlap, and the ceremony site was set on a grassy hill overlooking a breathtaking mountain range. Combine that vintage elegance with the bride and groom’s carefree, goofy personalities… and you literally have the wedding of the century.

Oh yeah, and I forget one detail.

The groom surprised all the guests and flew into the ceremony via helicopter – as “Danger Zone” blasted across the yard.

YES!!

Here comes the groom…!

This was great. There was a set of dice up front, and if a guest wanted the bride & groom to kiss, they had to roll the dice to determine what kind of kiss it would be. This one rolled a “kiss like your ship is going down”…….

…..which they managed pretty darn well!

A twist on the typical “shoe game.” Instead of taking one of each shoe to answer the questions, their MC friend gave them something that represented what they liked to do. For Luke, hunting… for Jess, shopping. ;D

What’s Canada Day without fireworks?? To finish off the night, they hired a professional team to put on an awesome show.

Well done, guys!

Larry & Andrea {Seattle Wedding Photography}

After our engagement session with Larry and Andrea (remember that?) we knew that their wedding was going to be one for the books. Sure enough – waterfront seating, beneath a lighthouse, on a gorgeously clear summer day… perfect. Even better, we got to meet up with them a couple of weeks later for an after session at Gasworks Park. (I love after sessions!!) Andrea is the QUEEN of sweet props – just wait til you see what she brought. ;) All in all, Kevin & I loved hanging out with our new friends every time we got together, and I can’t wait to see them again! (Babies, anyone??)

While the girls were primping… the guys were being masculine at the shooting range. ;)

What do you think? We love to hear it!

Andrew & Jenna {Orcas Island Wedding Photography}

I love Orcas Island, and was so excited to have the opportunity to celebrate with Andrew & Jenna as they exchanged vows at one of Jenna’s favorite family vacation spots. The whole thing was vintage a’la Anne of Greene Gables, down to the last detail. Bright, colorful, joyous – Anne would have loved it! ;D Despite the heat, everyone had a fabulous time… I don’t think it could have possibly been better.

(PS – Check out their equally vintage-fab engagement session at the Lairmont!)

Sweat, tears & makeup… the life of a summer wedding handkerchief ‘aint easy.

This kid was WORKING IT for Kevin!! No direction whatsoever. ;) Calvin Klein, anyone?

The morning afterwards, Kevin & I were invited back to the hotel for a delicious family brunch & to watch the happy couple open all of their family wedding gifts. :)

We totally crave your comments. ;)

Tim & Caitlin {Seattle Wedding Photography}

Tim & Caitlin were married at the beautiful Inglewood Golf Club, and got lucky with one of the few gorgeous sunny days in October. Caitlin, as usual, was stunning – and Tim was pretty dashing himself! The whole day seemed perfectly them - elegant & low key, all at once. Kevin and I loved every minute of it. Congratulations again, Mr. & Mrs. Bandel! You’re truly a rare perfect match. But, we already knew that… remember their engagement session?)

Feel free to leave comments – Kevin & I love to hear what you think!

Jon & Katie {Bothell Wedding Photography}

Ahhhh, the long-awaited Chism/Templin wedding is up for blogging! :) (Oh wait – want to check out their engagement session first?)

 I simply can’t write excitedly enough to tell you how much fun Jon & Katie’s wedding was for Kevin & I. Not only that, but it was perfect down to every last detail; ATTENTION brides who are planning vintage weddings – take notes!! From the hand-painted signs to the homemade dance floor (seriously – her dad made it himself), this backyard wedding was gorgeously vintage chic & the very definition of fabulous.

Jon’s brother attended the wedding via Skype – from Africa!

King of the Mountain ;)

sisters-in-law-to-be :D

CHECK OUT that dance floor – Katie’s dad made every last bit of it himself, out of pieces from an old barn!!

Tim & Kristina {Bellevue Wedding Photography}

I love working with couples who are so perfectly matched as Tim & Kristina. Just as at their engagement session, Kevin & I were laughing with them all day long. :)  They had a beautiful outdoor wedding at the romantic Robinswood House… in the middle of the hottest weekend of the summer. Despite the sweat running down everyone’s face, guests and party alike had a BLAST! Oh yeah, and the photographers did, too. :D

Tim & Rob were sitting across the table from each other, just before the ceremony… texting each other. ;) Awesome.

Best garter throw EVER.
