After we’d met with them for their engagement session, we knew that Jake & Talitha’s wedding was going to be an amazing one. Surrounded by their closest friends & family (and with son Luke at the alter!), these two became Mr & Mrs on a perfect June afternoon at the Anthea Ballroom in downtown Snohomish. And dinner? Chinese “takeout” from their favorite restaurant! How totally awesome is that??!
I had THE hardest time narrowing down which images to choose for this blog post! One of our favorite weddings of 2011, Kevin & Sara set their wedding at the beautiful Harrison Hot Springs in British Columbia. It was the ultimate garden wedding, with every vintage chic detail even more awesome than the one before. Not only are Kevin & Sara a gorgeous couple, they also happen to be a total kick in the pants! We laughed our way through the entire day.

Steven & Whitney are an amazing couple. They’ve gone through a lot together in the last few years, and you can tell as soon as they look at each other that they’re completely, deeply in love. Not the mamby-pamby kind of love, either – this is the real stuff. We got to spend the afternoon at Semiahmoo with them for their engagement session.

In May, we flew out to be a part of this beautiful lemon-and-lime themed wedding. As we had only communicated with the bride & groom via phone and email at this point, we got together the day before the wedding for their “engagement” session – really just an excuse to hang out and get to know each other. Totally had a blast! They wanted to avoid the typical beach shots, so we stuck with the wedding theme and played around in a local lemon grove. The next morning, we headed off to the hotel and the big day was off & running! Even with the priest getting caught in traffic -WITHOUT a cell phone- and thus being an hour and a half late to the ceremony (talk about wedding day stress!), the day was beautiful. The bride wore a breathtaking backless gown, the weather was sunny and hot, and the party was fabulous!
And then comes the wedding…..
Larry & Kelley can be summed up in one word… okay maybe two: COMPLETELY AWESOME. They love vintage; they ARE vintage. Seriously, they may have dolled up a bit for the engagement session, but this is them all over! Kelley, along with being a bartender, is a photographer; together with her sister, she covers weddings as Hand in Hand Photography (now Kim Nelson photography). Larry, in addition to being a barista, is the front man for his band Poke da Squid. To say the least, they’re busy people! We had the best time with them when they came up from Seattle for their engagement session in May, and I absolutely cannot WAIT for their vintage carnival-themed backyard wedding this July!! (Yeah, did you hear that – vintage backyard carnival. SWEET!)

Alright, so this wasn’t exactly “trash” the dress session… as Samantha (aka Sam) said, it was a “love the dress” session! To be fair, we really were going to trash it initially – jump in Whatcom Falls, find some good mud, go for a hike…. but then, well…. it’s such a pretty dress! She just couldn’t do it. So instead, we went around the back alleys of Bellingham on a SWEET after-session.
And Sam DID climb into a dumpster. 
Jon & Sam spent lots of time watching sunrises & sunsets while Sam was in school at Western. We drove aaaaall the way up to the top of Chukanut hoping to catch a good sunset from the spot where they’d hung out often… but there wasn’t even a hint of color that night. 
Oh well – we were up there, so we played with what we had!
Jake, Talitha and Luke are the epitome of an adorable family. They came up in May for their engagement/family session and I don’t think that we stopped smiling the entire time! Luke is a fricken DOLL, and so much his own little man. And I love seeing adoration like Jake & Talitha have for each other; I seriously have the best job in the entire world.

Back in May, Ben & Amy met us in Fairhaven to play around for their engagement session. We already knew that they’d be a good time, but what we didn’t know is that Amy REALLY hates PDA… and Ben really likes it. ;D Haha!! Definitely had a few good laughs around that one! She was a good sport, though… I think she must like him.

These two are seriously a RIOT. Tamir & Rivka Chaya came up to Bellingham to play for their engagement session just a couple of weeks before their wedding last fall. Jewish laws don’t allow for males & females to touch before marriage, which you would think would make for boring pictures – HA! So much for that. We had a blast!! Seriously, one of our most fun couples for 2010.
Tony and Sarah eloped in Hawaii, and when they got back they threw a fun, casual reception for their family & friends. Tony is from Mexico, so they had delicious Mexican food – and even a mariachi band! Totally awesome.
Sarah and her mom MADE all of these cake pops as favors for the guests.
