Rebecca greatly impresses me; a college student who discovered a passion for creating things, she decided to make a career out of it. Running With Scissors is her Etsy company, and she makes the CUTEST baby & toddler things – plus a few grown-up items, too. ;) Check her out on Facebook & Etsy – perfect baby shower & birthday gifts!

Tutus, of course – every little girl’s must-have.

Ross & Emily {Seattle Wedding Photography}

After their soggy engagement session, Ross & Emily deserved a beautiful day for their July wedding – and they got it. However, they had something else to overcome: massive food poisoning. Yep. Three days before, Ross & his best man had gotten violently sick from some bad fast food… and they stayed sick. When Kevin & I arrived to meet up with them at Occidental Park, the best man was still MIA and not sure he could make it at all; as of that morning he was on day four of fever, chills & and vomiting.Ugh.

Let me tell you – this was the most impressive groom & groomsman we’ve encountered yet.

In spite of being clearly miserable, neither Ross nor his best man complained to us about anything. Skin tone a bit paler than normal, they propped themselves up and soldiered on all day long, guzzling Gatorade and Pedialite and munching saltines. And instead of giving in to what could have easily been a day-ruiner, this wedding was a beautiful success! Set at Ross & Emily’s favorite restaurant (Portage Bay Cafe) and decorated simply with arrays of dainty purple flowers, the food was divine and the company delightful. Everyone had a grand time, no one vomited all day (I think), and by the end of the night the new Mr and Mrs were off to celebrate & recover on their honeymoon. :)

This is how the poor guys ACTUALLY felt.

They put on a pretty good face, yeah? ;)

Luke & Jessica {Vancounver BC Wedding Photographer}

Well… I think I broke my record for the most indecisive wedding blog post ever. I just LOVED Luke & Jess’ wedding so much that it was hard to weed out images to not post! They got married on my birthday, July 1st – which also happens to be Canada Day (significant since it was a Canadian wedding), and included an awesome fireworks show at the end of the night. Her “forest fairytale” theme was simply to die for – the reception tent was dripping with chandeliers, white flowers and burlap, and the ceremony site was set on a grassy hill overlooking a breathtaking mountain range. Combine that vintage elegance with the bride and groom’s carefree, goofy personalities… and you literally have the wedding of the century.

Oh yeah, and I forget one detail.

The groom surprised all the guests and flew into the ceremony via helicopter – as “Danger Zone” blasted across the yard.

YES!!

Here comes the groom…!

This was great. There was a set of dice up front, and if a guest wanted the bride & groom to kiss, they had to roll the dice to determine what kind of kiss it would be. This one rolled a “kiss like your ship is going down”…….

…..which they managed pretty darn well!

A twist on the typical “shoe game.” Instead of taking one of each shoe to answer the questions, their MC friend gave them something that represented what they liked to do. For Luke, hunting… for Jess, shopping. ;D

What’s Canada Day without fireworks?? To finish off the night, they hired a professional team to put on an awesome show.

Well done, guys!

Home Attendant Care {Bellingham Corporate Photography}

My friend Debbie runs Home Attendant Care, an amazing local business that offers home care for seniors who need extra help. They do everything from a few hours a week to all day/every day, and everything in between! They’re really a compassionate, skilled group of people. In June I stopped by their office to get some updated headshots & a new group photo for their website; check them out and pass their name along, it’s truly the best senior care available.
