My little sister is amazing! This month she and her musician husband are headed off on the adventure of their lives – they’ve packed everything up and are moving to Hollywood. How crazy is that?? She’s going to make an incredible actress. Before they left, she needed some updated headshots, so we threw together a few different looks one afternoon. Memorize this face, people – it will be famous someday!

I love you, Boobie!!! I’m going to miss you!!!

It’s always a huge honor to be asked to photograph another photographer, and this week I got to hang out for a “quick” family photo session for a friend of mine, Amy of Amy Parsons Photography. I say “quick” because our lovely plans for a 30 minute mid-afternoon mini session were skillfully thwarted by an adorable one-and-a-half-year-old who was quite sure that he was NOT into doing pictures that day, and a seven-week-old who was also not terribly excited about being posed. In spite of that, though, the rest of the family held up pretty well (and by that I mean, David was an amazing trooper!!) and at the end of our two-hour session, the result was this completely adorable family looking every bit as adorable as they are in real life. Love you guys!

You may remember some of our very best friends Brian & Amanda from their Belize destination wedding last year; one year later, and they’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of their firstborn daughter in just a few weeks. We snuck out to Cornwall Park for some quick maternity portraits last week. I cannot WAIT to meet the newest addition to this little family!! I love you guys!!

Danielle is one of the prettiest girls I know – from her blue eyes to her cascading brown hair to her petite little frame, I think she’s absolutely adorable. And now, she’s headed down to Florida to audition to play BELLE in DISNEYWORLD!! Freakin’ awesome!! She would be so perfect for this. Marc + Paula {Seattle Wedding Photography}

This day was one for the books. First of all, Kevin & I drove through SNOW -in April- on our way down to Seattle. When we met Marc & Paula at their hotels, the sun was just starting to peek out, and by the time we were wrapping up pictures with the party, there were ominous storm clouds swirling our way. As we arrived at the ceremony venue, it was raining; as the couple was pronounced man & wife, hail punctuated the rooftop; it lightened just long enough for a few more quick pictures, and then was back to rain. …Talk about crazy weather!!

But beyond the weather patterns, let me tell you: by the end of the night, Kevin & I had a hard time pulling ourselves away from this party. Seriously, we didn’t want to leave! Marc & Paula are one of those couples who are so obviously made to be together that anyone can see it just from looking at them. The way they make each other smile with a happiness that fills the room is intoxicating. All of the details of this day were amazing – from grandmother’s pearls to lace from Malta around the flowers, to homemade pies in mason jars for dessert – but the real party was in the love that just oozed from everyone in the room. Laughing, joking, crying, dancing… what an amazing, incredible day this was!

Paula meets Marc’s grandmother via Skype before the ceremony; they had Grandma skype into the wedding because she couldn’t travel to be there in person.

Putting this blog together, I realized all over again… I LOVE my job. It seems each year that I just love it more and more. It’s taken me waaay too many hours to pour over all of these precious memories from Justin & Jennifer’s wedding on Saturday, and I still find myself torn over which ones to share. How amazing that Kev & I have such an unbelievable privilege of witnessing so much joy! God is good.

Anyway – friends & family of Justin & Jennifer have been SO patiently waiting for this blog post, since it was supposed to be finished yesterday – well, here it is, finally!! This wedding was full as full can be – of love, laughter, dedicated friends, wind, rain & snowflakes (OK, not real snowflakes). In spite of the freezing cold, they and their party braved the elements down by the Zuanich Park marina before the afternoon ceremony. We beat the rain in the morning and were rewarded in the evening by an INCREDIBLE sunset; kudos to the bride & groom for booking it across the muddy grass to catch the last rays of sunlight!! Without question, it was worth it. Foster, Jennifer’s adorable son, totally hammed it up all day long – at “his wedding.” ;D And can you believe that the girls put all of those flowers together themselves?? Amazing!!

For our first wedding of 2013, this was a great one to kick the year off!

Our dear friends Adam & Heidi just added to their little family (did you see baby Audree??), and needed something cute to put on their Christmas card this year. No problem there! So, for a quick few minutes yesterday afternoon, we beat both the rain and the sunset to snap a few shots of some of my favorite people in the world.

Craig is a crab fisherman, and for part of their engagement session, he and Taylor wanted to head over to his family’s old wooden boat to take some pictures. We were STOKED at the idea! And as it turned out, we hit the perfect day for their session – even though it was raining when we arrived (the whole shoot very nearly got called off in the parking lot), the rain stopped and then the gorgeous storm clouds parted just enough for an awesome sunset at the very end of the session. Thank you, Jesus!! I can’t wait for your wedding, you guys – we had such a great time with you!

I love this little family, and this was my first time meeting baby Oliver, who’s now three months old. WHAT a little charmer!! I could just eat him up Little Jane is still not sure what to do with me… every year I come over with this big black thing and I chase her around, clicking this thing in her face and tickling her and making weird faces and funny noises… poor girl. To top it off, this year we picked a rainstorm of a day to do family pictures – and, after following her all over the house for an hour, we went OUT in it!

Actually, I think Jane was the most excited person in the family about that particular turn of events. And she was just so cute in her little pink rain coat & rubber boots!

Heidi & Stu & their “brady bunch” are freaking hilarious – I’m telling you, if you don’t know this family, you’re totally missing out! With Nick home on leave for a few days from his Marine base, we scrambled together and met up at Elizabeth park to snap a few rare pictures of the ENTIRE family all together. As usual, it was a riot, there might have been some butt pinching in there somewhere, and by the end everyone was wet, somewhat muddy and covered in leaves. Now THAT’s how you know you had a great photo session!!
