Mini Sessions for Clean Water!

I have an exciting announcement to make! Well, I think it’s exciting.

For the first time, Anda Photography is offering a day of MINI SESSIONS, with the proceeds benefiting Evangline International. Evangeline is a non-profit organization founded with the desire to provide clean drinking water to third world countries by digging shared village wells. They’ve currently donated two wells and are anticipating a third; in May I’ll be traveling with them to see firsthand the changes that the already dug wells have made and to assess the site & town where the next well will go. The proceeds from these Mini Sessions will go towards funding that very important trip.

I’m opening seven half-hour slots of time on Friday, April 27th at Hovander Park in Ferndale. For $95 you’ll get 5-8 web-sized images on a CD plus an 11×14 professional print of your favorite image. (CDs with full-sized images will be available for $50.) It’ll be a rockin’ good time AND you’ll be helping a good cause! Justin & Vicky {Lummi Island Wedding Photography}

Justin & Vicky are adorable. (Remember their engagement session last October?) Vicky has the most contagious laugh you’ll ever hear, and Justin’s slight Aussie accent is simply swoon-worthy. Their wedding on Lummi Island was set on one of the hottest July days we had over the summer, so I think everyone was thankful for the beach-side ceremony as the wind coming off the water cooled burning faces. All the bright colors & beach-themed decorations matched the bubbly, happy mood of the whole day; we had an absolute blast being a part of this wedding, as did everyone else involved!

Mark & Karyn {Bellingham Wedding Photography}

Mark & Karen’s beautiful July wedding was definitely an exciting first for us: it was set aboard the infamous Lady Washington, also known as the HMS Interceptor from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. SO cool! While it took quite a bit of flexibility & work on Karyn’s part to track down a booking on the ship, it was totally worth it. The day was bright & beautifully sunny, a perfect day for a sail around Bellingham Bay. After a sweet ceremony on deck (coincidentally officiated by an old friend of my family – small world!!) all of the guests enjoyed appetizers and a three hour cruise while the pirate-clad crew skillfully worked around everyone. Afterwards we all headed in to Fairhaven Park for a picnic-style party, complete with bubbles, pinwheels and horse-drawn carriage rides.

(PS Check out their engagement session at Deception Pass… these two definitely have a thing for the water. ;D)

Such a cool idea – a sand ceremony with an old-fashioned hourglass!

Scott & Bethany {Bellingham Engagement Photography}

Scott & Bethany drove up from Seattle to hang out with us for their engagement session on one of those will-it-rain-or-not days in July. Fortunately, although it was cold & windy, the rain held off for us. Larrabee State Park holds so many options for nature lovers like Scott & Bethany, so we spent the afternoon climbing around the rocks and tromping through the woods. These two are both so sweet and casually fun-loving, no wonder they make such a perfect couple.

Jason & Stephanie may have been a bit nervous before their July engagement session that it would be awkward to have a camera in their face… but they didn’t count on how FUNNY it would be! We met them at Hovander Park and pretty much just played around for an hour, giggling our way from the playground to the boardwalk. These two are complete opposites and completely in love, obviously made for each other.

Adventure: meet Andrea! This chick is AWESOME. When I joked about jumping in the water at Whatcom Falls Park during their engagement session and she said “let’s do it!” I thought – I LOVE this girl!! ;D And Phil is her perfect match. He goes along with the crazy ideas and laughs the whole way along – then before it gets too far he reels her back in. Gosh, that sounds familiar…. Good husbands are a girl’s best friend, that’s all I’ve got to say.

PS Andrea LOVES dinosaurs, so they might have brought a few to this session…..

After their engagement session, we were super excited for Josh & Kristi’s July wedding. Not only are they a kick in the pants to hang around, but they planned a fun-loving reception filled with lawn games, yummy goodies and plenty of laughter! After a beautiful ceremony in their home church, we all headed over to Nature’s Connection; a new wedding venue and a GORGEOUS setting for an outdoor wedding! The weather was beautiful and everyone had an absolute blast.

Ross & Emily {Seattle Wedding Photography}

After their soggy engagement session, Ross & Emily deserved a beautiful day for their July wedding – and they got it. However, they had something else to overcome: massive food poisoning. Yep. Three days before, Ross & his best man had gotten violently sick from some bad fast food… and they stayed sick. When Kevin & I arrived to meet up with them at Occidental Park, the best man was still MIA and not sure he could make it at all; as of that morning he was on day four of fever, chills & and vomiting.Ugh.

Let me tell you – this was the most impressive groom & groomsman we’ve encountered yet.

In spite of being clearly miserable, neither Ross nor his best man complained to us about anything. Skin tone a bit paler than normal, they propped themselves up and soldiered on all day long, guzzling Gatorade and Pedialite and munching saltines. And instead of giving in to what could have easily been a day-ruiner, this wedding was a beautiful success! Set at Ross & Emily’s favorite restaurant (Portage Bay Cafe) and decorated simply with arrays of dainty purple flowers, the food was divine and the company delightful. Everyone had a grand time, no one vomited all day (I think), and by the end of the night the new Mr and Mrs were off to celebrate & recover on their honeymoon.

This is how the poor guys ACTUALLY felt.

They put on a pretty good face, yeah?
